Payment

After signing the rental agreement Slotsferie Danmark will send a confirmation and a rental certificate to the tenant. At the same time, 25% of the rent falls due, as well as any cancellation insurance and handling charges. Due to Slotsferie Danmark's payment obligations to the owner, the balance must be received by Slotsferie Danmark 70 days prior to the start of the rental period.

Late payment

If the accommodation is booked less than 70 days before the start of the rental period, the full amount shall be payable upon receipt of the rental certificate. In the event the full rent amount is not paid on time, SlotsferieDanmark can cancel the rental agreement without notice. If the accommodation is booked 24 hours before arrival, please contact Slotsferie Danmark in order to make sure that an order has been processed.

Electricity, heating and water

The rent is excl. electricity, heating, telephone, water, additional equipment etc. unless otherwise specified in the property description.

Linen

The rent is excl. rental of linen unless otherwise specified in the property description. A linen pack contains: bedding, a small and a large towel and tea towel.

Check-out cleaning

The rent includes check-out cleaning fee on all accommodations.

GENERAL RENTAL CONDITIONS

§1. Rental certificate
The rental certificate confirms the rental agreement entered into between the tenant and the landlord of the holiday home, with Slotsferie Danmark solely acting as an intermediary for the rental between these parties. The rental agreement includes the mentioned holiday home with its associated specifications. Slotsferie Danmark is the party that makes the holiday home available to the tenant on behalf of a landlord and at the landlord's expense and risk, and which grants Slotsferie Danmark the exclusive right to mediate the rental of the holiday home. Agreements between the tenant and Slotsferie Danmark that alter, modify, or cancel these rental conditions must be in writing to be valid. Such changes do not render the other provisions of the rental conditions - either individually or in their entirety - invalid.


§2. Occupancy/usage
The holiday home must not be occupied or used by more people than the number specified on the website and on the rental certificate, which includes children. Pets may only be brought if stated on the rental certificate. If the holiday home is used in violation of the landlord's and Slotsferie Danmark's guidelines, applicable law, or public order in general, Slotsferie Danmark or the landlord has the right to access the holiday home, and if the tenant does not immediately rectify the situation, the tenant may be evicted without notice and the agreement terminated, without the tenant being entitled to a refund of the rent. An agreement to hold gatherings with more participants than stated on the rental certificate must be made with the landlord. An agreement to use the holiday home for purposes other than vacation must be made with the landlord. Slotsferie Danmark mediates the agreement.


§3. Cleaning/liability
The tenant is contractually obligated to clean the rented property and must leave it in a tidy condition at the end of the rental period. Cleaning is always included in the rental price, so the rented property must be left in a tidy condition. The tenant is responsible for everything found in the holiday home during the rental period. Should any damage occur, the tenant is obliged to immediately notify Slotsferie Danmark. Coverage for any damage to the contents has a deductible of DKK 1,000 – however, the insurance does not cover self-inflicted damage. Damages not reported before departure will be repaired at the tenant's expense. Damages that occur during the rental period will be repaired as soon as possible and must be compensated by the tenant before departure. Slotsferie Danmark has not taken out insurance that covers the tenant's person or belongings during the rental period.

 

§4. Terms and conditions of payment
The booking is binding immediately, after which Slotsferie Danmark sends confirmation and a rental certificate to the tenant. At the same time, 25% of the rent is due for payment. The remaining rental amount must – due to Slotsferie Danmark's payment obligations to the landlord – be received by Slotsferie Danmark 70 days before the start of the rental period. For bookings made later than 70 days before the start of the rental period, the entire amount is due for payment upon receipt of the rental certificate. If the full rental amount is not paid on time, Slotsferie Danmark can cancel the rental agreement without notice, and the tenant will lose the paid rental amount, while still being liable for the payment of the remaining rent.

Price increase due to changes in exchange rates: If there are changes in the exchange rates between the currency in which the holiday home is paid and the currency in which Slotsferie Danmark settles the holiday home with the landlord after the rental agreement is entered into, the rent can be increased proportionally by the same percentage as the currency has changed in relation to the exchange rate at the time of the rental agreement. Slotsferie Danmark must inform the tenant as soon as possible and is obliged to provide documentation for the change in the exchange rate upon request. Only if the increase exceeds 10% of the original rent does the tenant have the right to cancel the rental. Slotsferie Danmark has a fixed rate, not a variable daily rate.

For rental agreements entered into via the website, the rental certificate is sent to the email address provided by the tenant during the booking process. If the rental agreement is entered into via the website, it is possible to choose between bank transfer and payment by credit card. If payment by credit card is chosen, and the rental amount is due in more than one installment, the amount for the remaining installments is automatically deducted on the specified payment date.

 

If the credit card expires between two installments, or if Slotsferie Danmark is otherwise prevented from deducting the amount due for payment, information will be sent by email to the tenant. The email contains a link that the tenant is obliged to access to submit the new card details to Slotsferie Danmark. The submission takes place via a secure connection.

In the event of the tenant's cancellation of the rental, any credit balance will be refunded according to § 7 to the payment card provided during the booking process. All prices are exclusive of electricity, heating, water, extra inventory, etc., unless otherwise stated on the rental certificate. These services are charged separately, and Slotsferie Danmark reserves the right to price changes resulting from changes in consumer prices.

 

§5. Deposit
Slotsferie Danmark is entitled to charge a deposit, which is collected together with the second installment payment. The deposit, which serves as security for the tenant's obligations, is returned no later than 2 weeks after departure, once a satisfactory inspection of the holiday home has been carried out. Consumption of electricity, oil, etc., is deducted from the deposit. Should the deposit not cover the outstanding balance, Slotsferie Danmark reserves the right to charge the outstanding amount to the provided credit card.

 

§6. Complaints
Should there be any complaints regarding the rented holiday home, this must be reported in writing to Slotsferie Danmark no later than 48 hours after moving in. For complaints regarding cleaning, Slotsferie Danmark must be notified immediately after moving in. Otherwise, the tenant is liable for any defects and deficiencies according to §3.

  

§7. Cancellation/changes
For cancellations of the rental agreement made more than 70 days before the start of the rental period, 25% of the gross rent is payable, with a minimum of DKK 550. For later cancellations or if the tenant does not show up, the entire rental amount of 100% is payable. The rental agreement is not covered by the right of withdrawal rules

Changes to the rental are only possible within the same season and more than 70 days before the start of the rental period, and a fee of DKK 1,000 is charged. After this, changes to the rental certificate are no longer possible. Additional services can be ordered up to three weeks before arrival. Fees are non-refundable in case of cancellation or changes to the rental.

Cancellation insurance due to illness (Tryghed Inclusive) When booking a property through Slotsferie Danmark, illness cancellation insurance without a deductible is automatically included, which is provided by Tryg A/S. Any questions about the insurance can be directed to Slotsferie Danmark. The insurance terms can be found on Slotsferie Danmark's website www.slotsferiedanmark.dk and will be sent upon request.

 §8. Price guarantee (Security Included)
If the booked holiday home can be booked for the same period and under the same conditions, but at a lower price in the same currency, for example via an internet portal (documentation must be provided), the tenant will be refunded the price difference.

 §9. Force majeure and exceptional events
If Slotsferie Danmark and/or the landlord are prevented from fulfilling the rental agreement, Slotsferie Danmark can cancel the rental agreement without notice due to force majeure and/or unusual circumstances, including but not limited to strikes, epidemics, pandemics, war, natural and pollution disasters, flooding, or other unusual weather conditions, cyberattacks/hacker attacks, border closures, or other restrictions that make the rental impossible, regardless of whether this could be foreseen at the time of the rental agreement. Slotsferie Danmark and the landlord are entitled to cancel the rental agreement, as neither Slotsferie Danmark nor the landlord can be held liable. In such cases, Slotsferie Danmark is entitled to retain the amounts already paid by the tenant to cover all incurred costs, including sales and booking costs associated with the rental agreement and its cancellation.
 
§10. Danish Holiday Home Association (Feriehusudlejernes Brancheforening)
Slotsferie Danmark is a member of the Danish Holiday Home Rental Association and follows the ethical rules applicable to the association's members. Should any problems arise in connection with the rental that are not resolved to the tenant's satisfaction, the tenant has the option to bring the dispute before the Danish Holiday Home Rental Association's Complaints Board. Further information about the Complaints Board can be found at www.ankenaevnferiehus.dk. Alternatively, the EU Commission's online complaint portal ec.europa.eu/odr can be used to submit a complaint.

 §11. Communications and marketing
The tenant's contact information is confidential and will not be disclosed to others. Slotsferie Danmark may use your contact information to market relevant offers and services via email and SMS. The tenant can opt out of receiving information from Slotsferie Danmark at any time. This can be done by emailing info@slotsferiedanmark.dk.

 §12. Groups of young people
Minimum age limit of 25 years for groups of 3 people or more. This does not apply to young people vacationing with their parents or two young people who want to rent one of our properties together. However, we have a few properties where youth groups are allowed with an increased deposit – contact Slotsferie Danmark for more information. Inspection visits may occur.

 §13. Typographical errors
Slotsferie Danmark reserves all rights in respect of graphical and typographical errors.

 §14. Venue and choice of law
The venue is the jurisdiction where the holiday home is located or the Court in Odense, and Danish law is the agreed choice of law between the parties.

 §15. Personal data processing
To accommodate the request to rent the holiday home and to enable Slotsferie Danmark and the landlord to fulfill the rental agreement (EU's General Data Protection Regulation Article 6, Section 1, Letter b), Slotsferie Danmark needs the tenant's identification and contact information, i.e., name, address, phone number, and email address. This information is used, among other things, to send the tenant a confirmation and a rental certificate. Additionally, Slotsferie Danmark needs the tenant's account information for the settlement of the deposit after the rental period. To generally provide all guests with the best experience, Slotsferie Danmark usually also asks for the names and ages of all overnight guests. All information is collected to ensure that the tenant receives professional and correct treatment and for ongoing internal statistics.

The landlord can only see the tenant's name, but not the tenant's other contact information. Slotsferie Danmark does not disclose the tenant's information to third parties without the tenant's consent. However, Slotsferie Danmark may disclose the tenant's information to companies affiliated with Slotsferie Danmark to the extent necessary for Slotsferie Danmark to manage the relationship with the tenant. Additionally, Slotsferie Danmark may disclose the tenant's information to public authorities if required by law.

Non-smoking rules: If the smoking ban is not observed in a non-smoking house, a fee of DKK 1500 will be charged. Additionally, Slotsferie Danmark reserves the right to claim compensation for lost rent if subsequent tenants have to be relocated due to smoking in the holiday home.
